UiTM ENERGY MANAGEMENT INITIATIVE TOOL (EMIT)

The UiTM Energy Management Initiative Tool (EMIT) is a digital monitoring and reporting platform developed by Universiti Teknologi MARA to strengthen institutional energy governance and support systematic energy efficiency initiatives across its campuses. EMIT functions as a centralised tool for tracking electricity consumption, identifying usage patterns, and supporting evidence-based decision-making related to energy management and carbon reduction strategies.

Through EMIT, energy consumption data from faculties, administrative buildings, and selected facilities are compiled and analysed to enable benchmarking, performance comparison, and early detection of inefficiencies. The tool supports UiTM’s commitment to sustainable campus operations by providing reliable data for planning energy optimisation measures, monitoring the effectiveness of interventions, and informing policy development at both campus and university levels.

EMIT also plays a key role in supporting UiTM’s sustainability reporting requirements, including low-carbon initiatives, SDG-aligned actions, and internal environmental performance evaluations. By integrating energy data into a structured reporting framework, EMIT enhances transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in UiTM’s energy management practices, contributing directly to long-term cost efficiency and environmental responsibility.
