UiTM ENERGY MANAGEMENT INITIATIVE TOOL (EMIT)

The Energy Management Initiative Tool (EMIT) is a centralized digital platform developed by the UiTM Green Centre in collaboration with the Operasi Pengurusan Tenaga, Jabatan Pembangunan UiTM to systematically capture, manage, and monitor energy-related initiatives across Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). The system functions as a structured repository for documenting initiatives that promote energy efficiency, conservation practices, and increased awareness of sustainable energy usage, including campaigns, technical improvements, operational enhancements, and behavioral change programs. Through EMIT, stakeholders can record comprehensive details such as implementation scope, impact, and outcomes, enabling effective tracking, evaluation, and reporting of energy performance at both campus and institutional levels while improving coordination through a unified data platform. The data collected not only supports UiTM’s compliance with the ASEAN Energy Management and Accreditation System (AEMAS) through accurate documentation and benchmarking, but also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), by fostering responsible energy consumption, reducing carbon footprint, and strengthening institutional commitment to sustainability. Overall, EMIT enhances energy governance, improves data integrity, and supports informed decision-making while contributing to UiTM’s broader role in advancing sustainable development.
